Born Monday 19th November at 07:15am, 56cm and 3.7kg

 

She has finally arrived into our world, our little princess and

we are totally in love with her !!
Sometimes I just start crying looking at her thinking what a miracle we have here with us :)
 

She eats and sleeps very well, and so far I only have to get up once at night to feed her.
I do find it a bit hard though to put her back to bed after her night feed as when I burp her she tends to wake up, and if I dont burp her she will puke her milk up and cry..hmmm..so takes me sometimes 2 hrs to get her back to sleep.

 

The birth was pretty aweful though I have to say, being induced for 4 days made me pretty tired and not being able to sleep at nights !

My midwife got pretty upset as the nurses at the Hospital didnt inform her I was being induced.

There was no reason for me being induced, I wasnt even overdue !

But as my waters broke on the Saturday morning, and no contractions, they put me on this agressive drip on Sunday to start them.
Only took 15 mins for my first contraction to come and within hours I was having 5 contractions within 10 min !
Hello Epidural !!
I got told the drip labour is more painful, but hey I dont understand how most woman do this naturally ?!
It huuurts !!
So I got the Epidural and phew....so much better.
Not long after I noticed the labour pain was coming back, specially on one side of my lower back.
My partner noticed my epidural was leaking !!
My midwife tried to get hold of the person giving me my Epidural but he was in the theater operation room and was going to be an hour or so.
Oh....that was a looooong painful hour !
When I finally got the Epidural, I could still feel the pain :/
They though my baby was probably sitting on a nerv.
So I had to go through this with this bad labour back pain ahhhhhh !
19 hours later I had finally dilated to 10 cm's and was ready to push.
I seriously had no energy anymore, so much pain, vomiting, gas, tired !!
I was pushing for over an hour, but my cervix was so far back and her head kept sliding back up.
My body seemed to shut down, I didnt even get anymore contractions !
So...after all this time in hospital and long labour, I ended up with what I was fearing.. C-section.
Really ??!!
Then I woke up again, pure fear, my whole body was shaking, the thought of being cut up !
Oh my I was scared.
But my partner was there with me the whole time telling me everything was going to be ok :)
The progress them cutting me and getting her out of my belly went  pretty fast, it was the putting me back together that took long and very very uncomfortable !
But when I heard her first cry...JOY !!
She looked exactly like me when I was a neworn baby.
Both me and my partner cried, so overwhelmed with love !!
I couldnt believe she was finally here with us xxx

Thought I would finally get some sleep after the birth but oh no...I was too excited to sleep and at night my partner had to leave the hospital so I had to be up and watch her, as first time parent I was worried about most things !
The 2nd night was an experience, think I was breastfeeding for 12 hours to bring the milk in!
I thought geez...does my lil bub never stop sucking and go to sleep ?! lol
My nipples are sooo sore...weeeeeee !

After spending a week in hospital I was so happy to come home again, back to normal, my own bed, normal food and to see my puppies again :)
I have been in some pain from the C-section, not being able to get out of bed, walk etc, but I have healed up pretty good and fast in a weeks time.
But im not liking the numb feeling I have on my belly and not being able to drive.

Our plan is to get pregnant again pretty soon :)
Will start trying in 2-3 months !
We want a big family and im not getting any younger so need to start again soon.
I loved being pregnant...

BABY UPDATE - 40 WEEKS

Just a little update on whats going on.

I had to come into the hospital at 9am on thursday morning the15th Nov to see an Obstetrician as I had high blood pressure. 

So they checked my blood again which was ok, but my blood pressure was still high.

Waited in a room for 2 hours to hear what they were gonna do.

They decided to put me into a ward and induce me. Was so anxious and freaked out all day !

Didnt know much about inductions. So I sent my partner home to pick up my hospital bag and babies bag.

That night I had one hour sleep, as I was so anxious plus lots of baby cries keeping me awake, people coming and going aswell. 

Friday morning I felt like a Zombie !!

Got induced 2 times on the friday 16th November, her actual due date.

But even after this me cervix just wont open !! Argh...

Slept better on friday night, woke up at 4.30 am, as they keep checking my blood pressure and monitoring the contractions. 

05.00am my water broke !

They moved me into a birthing room at 7am and told me I probably have the baby today, Sat 17th November, so I got really excited, but also ridic nervous !

They induced me AGAIN. I think every nurse here at the hospital has now examed me haha.

They prepared the drip into my hand to force the labour, but when they examed me, my cervix was STILL closed !! So they had to induce me... A G A I N.....no drip was aloud yet.

Getting so tired and over being at the hospital, waiting for things to happen, missing home and my lil doggies too!! 

The food at the hospital is just dreadfull..YUK...even my dogs wouldnt eat it !!

Once again my partner had to go home overnight at 9pm and let me stay here at hospital alone :(

Didnt sleep again, had bad labour pains as they induced me before bedtime...not good !

Its now Sunday 18th November, and I have been in hospital since thursday morning.

Another day of "maybe"?!

But they are thinking of forcing the labour now with the drip....

Bit scared as I know the labour is painful, and so far I have only had the mild labour pains !!

So im pretty sure I will have the epidural.

So thats it for now... its 10am on sunday morning, waiting for my partner to come in again to hospital and wait for things to happen !!

39 Weeks + 3 days

Tick ...Tock...Tick..Tock..

no signs of any labour yet.

Im due on Friday 16th Nov.

Really dont want to go past the date, she is getting bigger and I have to push her out right hehe.

Today I have been feeling really emotional and so nervous, think my hormones are all over the place and I keep crying randomly !

Saw my midwife today and I had a sudden High blood pressure, which so far has been completely normal, so I had to go to the LabTest urgently for a blood test for Preeclampsia !

It completely freaked me out, but I am a total hypochondriac, so just imagine how I will feel when I go into labour ahhhhhh, and I freak out when Im in hospitals, so who knows how this is gonna go ??!

My blood results came back 4 hours later OK, pheeeeew !

My midwife thinks my body might just be getting ready for labour and could cause a sudden rise in blood pressure, but an Obstetrican will do a check up on friday, unless I have had lil bubba by then !

38 Weeks

38 weeks pregnant and she could come any day !!

Been on maternity leave for 2 weeks now and time has just flown by,

 I cant believe Im about to meet this little person so soon.

Everyday Im thinking...mayby today?!

Im still really really nervous, such an emotional experience to go through.

Trying to rest but I keep doing things all the time like cleaning the house constanly and gardening, probably cause I wont have time later!

 

I think I will miss my big belly a little bit and feeling her kicks inside of me :)

 





 

 

Me and my dear friend Shylah, we are only 10 weeks apart pregnant.

 

 

 

35 WEEKS

My bump at 35 weeks.

Last week at work this week, really looking forward to some rest.
She is feeling really heavy now when I walk around and stomache is very tight !

Im getting up more frequently at nights to wee and abit uncomfortable sleeping.

My hip pain doesnt seem to go away, but only hurts at nights.

No swelling yet which is good, only just taken my ring of my finger.

Been feeling little bit dizzy, but thats all.

My sweets intake is increasing though hehe.
I have to say I am getting really nervous, and also extremely emotional, I get tears in my eyes just thinking of meeting her so soon.
My pregnancy has just flown by and I need these last few weeks to sink it all in really.
Starting to fear the labour pain, but trying to relax about it.
Just hoping I wont get a c-section, that would freak me out !
Not very keen on hospitals, but Im planning to have an epidural so has to be.
Still stuck on names !!
So guess we will have to wait until we meet her.
Planning to do some gardening and clean up the house before bubba arrives as I dont think I will have time for that soon....oh and some good sleep :)

32 week scan

8 months pregnant today !

8 more weeks to go....its going so fast and im getting a little bit nervous.

Just the whole experience of meeting this little person that me and my partner have created :)

Its so close now, and my whole life will take a different direction, and to feel a different type of love that I have never experienced before.

I had placenta posterior in my 20 weeks scan so had to do a 32 week check up to make sure its position had changed, which it has...phew..or else there might had been C-section and complications.
I will try for a natural birth, but will opt for an Epidural if its too much pain to handle.

28 Weeks

Im entering my 3rd trimester today.

Where did the 2nd trimester go ?? Come back, you felt gooood !

Its incredible how much my belly has grown and feels different in the last 4 weeks.
Belly has been feeling really really tight, like its gonna explode any minute and Im starting to wonder if she is gonna fit ??!
No stretch marks so far.
Im using Certified Organic Rosehip Oil for it.
2nd Trimester was great, lots and lots of good energy, plenty of sweet cravings for chocolate and icecream :)

Lots of it !!

Good thing I dont seem to put on any extra weight at all, yay, but when im not pregnant I go up a kg by just looking at a chocolate bar !

My blood pressure has been perfect so far and a healthy baby heartbeat.

My diabetic test came back Negative, which is good news :)

This week I have been feeling soooo tired again though, like in my 1st Trimester, makes it pretty hard to be at work and when I get home I just want to go straight to bed.

 The dark cold winter evenings are not helping either!

My little girl has been VERY energetic and is taking dancing lessons in my belly :)
 but what a great feeling !!
The kicks are starting to turn into stretching movements now, and I love watching her little feet move across my belly :)
Im peeing more then ususal, guessing she is resting on my bladder hehe.
Only 12 weeks to go now and we are getting really excited, but also very nervous.
This is just such an incredible new experience for both of us.
Cant wait to meet her !!

NEW PRAM !

Was an exciting weekend for me as we were going Pram shopping !!

Never did I think it was going to be this much fun :)

We got a Silver Cross Surf.

Heaps of colors to choose from but ended up with a black one.

They even had pink !

The good thing about this pram is that its supplied with its very own, extra special Babynest. The Babynest provides a deeply padded lie flat surface for your baby, hand made with soft short pile fleece fabrics.

Also you can have the seat facing towards you or the other way round.

Easily folds together aswell.

Look at my man so excited putting it together !

Probably cause it has got "wheels" hehe.

20 WEEKS

Yay !

We are having a little Baby Girl :)

Had my 20 weeks scan the other day.

We definitely wanted to know who is kicking inside of me !

Was nervous again having the scan, but guessing its pretty normal, all organs are there and in the right place. Good Good !

I have a low lying placenta though which could mean c-section (nooo !!), but in 9/10 woman the placenta normally moves.

Funny, we both always have been imagine us with a boy first, and I had a feeling it was going to be a boy too for the last 3 months.

We had even picked out the name, the blue color to paint on one wall in the babies room and always looked at the baby boys clothing haha.

So during the scan we both were saying "yep...thats a boy", and the nurse goes   " well...I can tell you its 100% a GIRL !"

Wow...suprise !! haha

Then the tears of joy came :)

We are sooo happy and excited and cant wait to meet our litle Baby Girl !!

Half way there, 20 more weeks to go :)

Heartbeat...

Week 19....

My bump has really started to show now, the last 3 weeks it definitely had a big growth spurt.

Im carrying low rather then high.

One more week to go and we will find out the gender, so exciting !!

I started to feel the baby move 2 weeks ago now, like little ticklish flutters, and feeling them all the time now.

Its a very nice calming feeling knowing its there and moving around :)

Sleeping is not as comfortable now as it used to be, I cant lie on my stomache anymore or my back which I always used to sleep on. It reduces oxygen to the baby.

Sleeping on my side has gotten abit painful the last week as my hips has started to make space for the baby and the pain keeps me up at night (and the peeing!) then cant get back to sleep again.

 In the mornings it feels like I had a hard session at the gym the night before with sore muscle aches in my hips!

The video below is of me lying on the couch last night, and my midwife listening to my babies heartbeat thru a fetal doppler, you can hear it properly 20 secs into the video.

Its filmed from my partners phone and it was abit dark so the quality is not that good, but the sound is :)

This cute little Moses Basket is my newest purchase for the baby.

Its made from natural paper rope and the mattress is 100% organic wool.

Baby will have its own little snug bed wherever we go :) 

BABY ROOM

We have finally started to set up the baby room.

Took a whole day with all the moving, cleaning and putting furniture together !

I was so tired by the evening but with a big smile on my face :)

We moved the guest bedroom furniture out and moved it into our 2nd guest bedroom.

It already had a nice bed etc in there but as I prefer white we took the current bed and bedside table out from there.

The room is not finished yet though, we still need wall decorations etc.

My cat keeps jumping up in the cot !! arrgh..

...and we moved that furniture into this guest bedroom.

This room is not that big, so the all white furniture kinda made it look bit bigger.

16 WEEKS

pregnant today, time flies !

My nausea has finally disappeared and my energy is back, phew !

But I do get some really painful headaches now and then, my appetite has increased, im continuously hungry, still no special food cravings though, and my boobs feels like swollen bruised balloons.

Im constipated and I keep getting up 3-4 times a night to pee, bit annoying as I cant seem to get enough sleep !

This cold Ive had, since Weeks 5, and still have is apparently not a cold :/

Its actually a nasal congestion which is a widespread complaint during pregnancy, as the high levels of progesterone and estrogen cause mucus membranes (like the nasal lining) to swell and produce more fluid than normal and will most likely last throughout the whole pregnancy.

Awesome !

My mood swings has entered my 2nd trimester hehe, im pretty much annoyed and grumpy at everything at the moment !

Lets hope my partner can bear with me for another 5 months haha.

This weekend is a long weekend as of Queens Birthday.

Looking forward to some sleep in time, snuggling up on the couch watching movies and have the fire on. 

Its getting really cold at nights Brrrrrr ! 

One thing im really really looking forward to this weekend is to start decorating the baby room !!

We decided to keep the neutral scheme that we already have and then the toys etc will just add that punch of colour.

Below is a few things that will go into the room.

 This adorable Bed Canopy from IKEA will hang over the baby cot.

Simple white drawers.

IKEA Shelving unit. 

This will be a great item in the room where we can put all the toys etc.

Not forgetting the soft teddies :)

 I recently bought this cool Flexibath that you can just fold together so it wont take up any space, and today I bought this cute little bath support for it.

The bath support is designed to fit the baby’s body shape, holding it gently in place and making sure the baby stays safely within the seating bowl of the bath support.

So cute !!

Just bought this awesome baby bath today.

Its a non slip bath that easily folds together, what a great idea !!

And it got its own plug to let the water out.

Wont take up any space at all.

Can also use it to put toys in at a later stage.

Yes...my head is buzzing with baby stuff but I promise I havnt got coco.. yet haha.

 

We have also bought this cute baby cot.

Its a Touchwood.

 And here he/she is...sucking on its thumb !!!

So cute :)

10 WEEKS.....

YES !!

I have finally got around to tell my friends in person that reads my blog the exciting news.

Was it planned?

 Of course…but never thought it would happen this quick?!

We tried once (not sex haha), but without protection, and boom boom Im pregnant !

My partner couldn’t really believe it as I told him it normally takes most couples 6-12 months, especially in my age. 

So how did I find out I was pregnant?

Well, I was looking for every possible sign like I believe most of us do hehe,  as we really want to get pregnant asap when trying.

I didn’t really notice any big signs at the start but up to 16dpo this is what I felt:

• Suddenly blocked nose, but not actually having a cold.
• Sore throat for only a day
• Hot flushes
• Dizzy
• Very tired, took naps in middle of the day which I normally don’t do.
• Thirsty and very dry mouth !
• Hungry !  I told my partner I might have worms as I always felt really hungry !

10dpo I decided to take a pregnancy test as “google” says it would show on the stick.

It was the same morning we were dropping my parents off to the airport flying back to Sweden, I wanted to give them a nice surprise.

Test was Negative.

I was pretty upset, wondering how I couldn’t be pregnant after all that sex?!!

Back to work on Monday, started to get my “period cramps”.

I was already few days late and I kept joking with my partner saying:

‘Ooohh no period today either, I might be pregnant?!’ J

But in my mind I still had the Negative test, but maybe I took it too early??

By Friday I still had no period so I was starting to wonder?

And Im NEVER late.

I was thinking, if im not pregnant then there is definitely something wrong with me ??!

So please be pregnant! 

(I am such a hypochondriac)

My partner was out with the boys that night  so didn’t want to take a test at home alone.

I bought my first bottle of Non Alcoholic wine,

just in case hehe...and yes it was yuk !

I was actually starting to think, what if I was pregnant and all those drinks Ive had after I took that negative test =O

That Hen night I went to was pretty messy too !

So on Saturday morning I just had to do another test.

I wasn’t even nervous,  cause I just thought I had to be pregnant?

And there it was POSITIVE !!

I was jumping up and down of happiness whilst my partner sat there with his big mouth open and a shocked face haha…He was like noo? Really ?? huh?!

And then he started to smile and laugh with me hehe.

We were so excited we wanted to tell the whole world !!

I think I spent most of that weekend confused with 1000s of questions  in my head and started to freak out about what and what not I was allowed to eat ?!

So how have Ive been feeling from week 5-10 ?

TIRED !!

Wow..haha..now we are talking tiiired....

Tiredness I thought never excited?!

No energy at all and my eyelids just shuts, all I want to do is sleep.

Hence Ive had very quite weekends doing nothing but sleeping.

BOOBS !!

Sore..ouch…they actually starting to feel and look like I have had breast implants lol.

Very "full"

Worst in the mornings then during the day they are not too sore, but then if you do give me a nice little hug they do feel like they are about to explode.

HEADACHES !!

Omg…im so over my headaches …

And  its on all day long.

MORNING SICKNESS ?

Well, as in vomiting , only once !

Morning sickness must be so different in every woman.

Im feeling so sick every morning, but im guessing that’s due to the hunger we feel on top of that awesome headache?

So it does take me a while to get out of bed.

To describe this in one word it feels like:

BEING VERY HUNGOVER

Yep…

My advise would be, try and get up 30 mins earlier then normal on workdays as it will take some the time to stabilise in the mornings hehe

HUNGRY !!

Im constantly starving !!

I have no idea how these  woman don’t pile on any extra pounds whilst pregnant??

My mum only put on 6kg whilst pregnant, somehow I don’t think that will be in my case haha.

They say that in your First Trimester add another 100 calories to your diet.

Bull$hit ! 

 Im hungry !!

Hmm…maybe I do have worms then? lol

I make myself a banana, kiwi, blueberry, yoghurt, milk and honey smoothie every morning to keep me going to get ready.

Then when I get to work I have either eggs or musli for breakfast.

Then I kind of eat for the rest of the day haha.

CRAVINGS ??

No…not really, well not yet.

 I do indulge a bit more now though then before I guess.

MOOD SWINGS ??

Haha !

Im sure my partner can easily answer that question...

When is my first scan?

In a weeks time !

Im a little bit nervous, will be so weird to see a little body inside of me J

And please let there be a heartbeat..or two ?!

Yes, im hoping for twins, I wouldn’t mind having two cuties at once J

We do have twins in my family and I am showing a bigger belly then normal, but that might just be all the food im eating at the moment lol

Im REALLY looking forward to doing up our baby room, which I have planned ages ago now hehe.

All the furniture will be in white and then the decorations will add the color.

Exciting times ahead !!
