WAIHEKE DAY 4

Last day of my holiday, ♥-day ! After breakfast we went to some more Vinyards, and this one is Cable Bay, great wines and restaurant with some amazing views !

 Took our doggies for a walk aswell at Little Oneroa Beach. Was such a hot day !

 This foodstall is parked by the beach during the summers and makes amazing woodfired pizzas. Great for an evening on the beach with some wine :)

 Starting of with some Champers...

 We both went for the Eye Fillet - best I have ever had !! Oh and their Chef is Swedish ;p

 This little dish came first to cleanse our palette, think it was scallop with something, but very good !

 My starter: Pacific Blue Prawns & King Scallops, butternut pine nut ravioli, lemon and apple sauce -YUM !

 Blakes starter: Twice cooked Pork Belly, apple & pistachio strudel, pomegranate.

 Then we had this cold soup to clense our palette again..

Small but oh so gooood !

 Main Course : Grass Fed Eye Fillet with crust. That steak was so tender it melted in my mouth !

Now that meal was faaantasticoo !

LA PLAYA

What a superb weekend it was, hot and sunny ! Spent my whole sunday at the beach with friends and had a great bbq, nibbles and plenty of wine :)

 Managed to do some shopping in the city aswell.

 Got this really nice Duvet cover set for our bedroom from Country Road.

 Found this lovely coastal ornament at a Plant barn that I have hung by our house entrance.

 Bought some nice flowers for my mum :) Love this bouquet !

 My mum made me this Swedish Smorgastarta, its soooo yummy ! Very traditional in Sweden. Had my namesday yesterday.

A name day is a tradition in many countries in Europe that consists of celebrating the day of the year associated with one's given name.

She loves it so much sometimes I think she is just about to fall asleep hehe.

LONG WEEKEND

Few snapshots from my 3 day long weekend. Very cloudy and windy, but still managed to get away from the house a little bit.

First stop at Ascension Wine Estate in Matakana, about 60 min drive from Auckland.

Once you are there, 15 vineyards can be reached within 15 minutes drive.

Had a very nice lunch and some wine of course :)

Next stop Omaha, which is about another 10 minutes drive from Matakana, a popular family beach resort, stunning white sandy beaches, great for watersports, also has a championship 18 hole golf course, art cafes, charming restaurants, galleries, farmers markets and more vineyards...

We visited our friends who got a beautiful 5 bedroom batch, right on the beach !

Shame about the overcast, but still stunning, and the sand is sooo soft .

..tasted some honey at the Honey Centre..so many different flavours, lemon, blueberry, strawberry etc.

New year new beginnings and better opportunities :)

Went out and had Japanese for dinner to celebrate....

My mum making pasta from scratch, she is so good at it and it tastes so much better then bought pasta. I did eat way too much over this weekend hehe.
